General exclusions
There are some things that health insurance policies don’t cover. Although this will vary based on the type of cover you take out, there are also some things that generally, most insurers won’t cover.
Most health insurance policies don’t cover:
- Treatment for pre-existing conditions
- Pregnancy and childbirth costs
- Organ transplants
- Cosmetic surgery to improve your appearance
- Management of chronic conditions (a long-term illness that can be controlled but not cured)
- Acts of war or terrorism
- Treatment of conditions arising from or related to AIDs or HIV
- Allergies or allergic disorders
- Benefits that are not covered or are over your benefit limits
- Accident and emergency treatment
- Preventative treatment
- Treatment of chronic conditions

The document will detail the products and services you have decided to purchase and will outline the reasons for our recommendation.
It is important that you please read the document, along with our terms of business which our consultant will have provided you with, and all other insurer specific policy documentation to ensure you are completely familiar with the product, together with its terms and conditions.
Wherever in this document we have provided a benefit comparison, it is of key benefits and not a full description of all benefits. Please refer to provider’s literature for full benefit description.

Wherever in this document we quote premiums or costs, all sums quoted include insurance premium tax (IPT) or exclude VAT as applicable unless stated otherwise.
